18-year-old Beth Martin from Blackpool is preparing to become a member of the British Border Guard. In 2018, she underwent an army and police training course on countering terrorists, which included 70 hours of intense physical activity per week. Beth is very tiny (her clothing size corresponds to the Russian 40th size), and the parameters of her body have not changed during the entire pregnancy, about which she had no idea. The girl twice during the year just in case bought at the pharmacy rapid pregnancy tests (the last time — just two months before the birth), and both times they showed a negative result, writes The Daily Mail.

In the first week of October 2018, Beth had especially extreme workouts, she was very tired, it became harder to breathe, but the girl blamed it on high loads. One day, an hour after completing the workout, Beth started having severe cramping abdominal pain. She thought it was an aggravation of irritable bowel syndrome and at first did not contact the specialists. The pain did not stop, but only increased, but Beth endured for more than two days before seeking emergency help.
The hospital immediately understood that Beth did not have an exacerbation of irritable bowel syndrome, but a childbirth. "I had only seven hours to realize the fact that I was about to become a mother," recalls Beth. Her perfectly healthy and full-term daughter, Maisie Loraine, was born on October 13, 2018, weighing just over 3,300 grams. As doctors believe, baby Maisie hid herself behind her mother's ribs all nine months, so Beth didn’t have a noticeable belly. And home pregnancy tests, as it turned out recently, often show a false-negative result.
According to Beth, not only she herself, but her whole family was shocked to hear about Maisie’s pregnancy and birth. “My older brothers Liam and Leo thought I was kidding them,” Beth shares. Now the baby is already seven months old, and Beth plans to return to school in September. “I never wanted children, but now I can’t imagine my life without Maisie. I really like being a mom, and Maisie is the best thing that ever happened to me, ”the girl says.
